Back from Thanksgiving...

Hi Furiends!
Well, we're back from our Thanksgiving holiday, and I've been so buried in Christmas decorations that I haven't had any time to blog about it yet. But never fear, I will! Here is a little pic to keep your appetite whet though: Carol, Monte, and me at the lodge posing for a picture. We had SUCH a fun time!
What did you guys do for Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is Coming!!!

Woohoo!!! I'm super excited because we're getting ready to go to a lodge this week on holiday! We go every year. It'll be Caroline's first time, so I'll show her the ropes. - The house is bustling today: Ma's packing, washing, cooking, giving me a  bath (yuk), it all means one thing: time to go have a 3 day sleepover/slobber fest with Monte my cuzpup (oh yeah, and the rest of the family)!!!! Woohoo!!!
Here we are sacked out after a good romp. He always shares his house with me when I come for a visit. Very kind of him, don't you think?

Got my best bonie and rope packed, a blankie, and a Thanksgiving bandana. That should about do it! Off to patiently wait...

Ode to Bonie Time

Oh bonie time, how we love thee!
Your sweet, succulent rawhide goodness calls to us...
You delight our teeth with cleaning, and our tongues with good tastes...
We love to hide you, chew you, play with you, steal you from each other...
You truly add happiness to our lives!

Wordless Wednesday

"Caroline! Stop trying to sneak your way into the pictures. Ma's trying to take a picture of ME!"

**Note: Caroline is going in to get spayed today. Paws crossed and say a prayer for her!

The "We Love Pa" Club

Motto:
"No Pa should ever feel unloved"

Purpose:
To make sure that every time Pa arrives home from work, sits down after a long task, or wakes up in the morning, he knows that we really love him a whole lot too (even though we spend most of our days with Ma).

Action Points:
*When we hear the truck coming down the driveway, run to the sliding glass door and commence hysterical tail wagging.
*Followed by offering ourselves up to be held, patted, and otherwise adored.
*As soon a Pa sits down on the couch, ask politely to get up, then shower him with kisses (as pictured above).
*When Pa goes out to gather wood, ring the doorbell incessantly so he knows we want to go out with him so bad.
*Ask to play "chase" and "tackle" at least once a day.

Founding Members:
Chester and Caroline

Pledge:
We, two adorable Bichons, do solemnly swear to, as best within us lies, daily endeavor to be sure that our Pa knows we love him.

What can I say? We just give, and give, and give!

Around the Bend...

Hello!!! I am SooooOOoooooo happy to announce to all of you dear caring souls, that as of yesterday, my sister (after a very long talk with her) has tentatively started to use her lame leg again. I can't believe it! It's certainly not all the time, and it's definitely still a limp when she does, but she's giving it a go, and that's all I asked her to do. I told her that she might have to leave me if she doesn't at least try so that Ma can see that she's getting better little by little. I've even been a super good boy the past two days letting her rest it and not tempting her to blitz with me. That's getting old though, let me tell you... Oh Queenie pie! Will you come play with me?? Anyway, thank you so much for all your crossed paws and prayers. It looks like we just might be headed up hill from this ordeal. ---And I haven't heard Ma mention placing Caroline's adoption ad either lately, so I hope that means we're out of the woods on that front too... Please continue to keep Carol's leg in your prayers until she's good as new! Thank you again,
--Chester

Very Sad News...

To my dear furiends,
Ma and Pa decided today that my sister of two months, Caroline, might need to find another home. I am soooo sad! I think Ma is too, because I catch her crying a lot. While they were away on vacation last week, Carol hurt her leg quite badly. She isn't any better yet, and even though I AM trying, I haven't been very good at letting her rest like she needs to. Ma is taking her to the vet one last time this week for x-rays to confirm the vet's suspicions (a torn ACL), and then, unless the vet has any brilliant ideas on how to keep a puppy calm, and get me to not want to play for 6 weeks, and make $1000 drop into our laps, my sweet sister will have to find a new ma and pa. I really hope there is someone out there who loves little Bichons, and has lots of time, money, and love to nurse my little CareBear back to health. Hoping for the best, but missing her a whole bunch already...sniff

"Caroline, why can't you come play?"
"Because I hurt my leg. See?"
"I can't walk on it at all or it hurts me."

Bath Day...dum, dum, DUM!

Oh that dreaded day! For us (since we're white and fluffy and all) it comes twice a month usually. Each time I really try hard to be brave when ma calls me into the bathroom. I let her brush me out, I walk up the shower, I take a deep breath, I hop in. But then, when the water hits me...I shudder, and sometimes even a whimper escapes. When Caroline or The Queen are watching though, I try to keep that in. I know. Pathetic. I just really don't like baths. Sorry. Just look at how degrading they are:
Yup. That's me. Embarrassing. I DO like blow drying though. It's so warm, and ma kinda gives me a massage while I'm drying off:
And here we are all fresh and clean and fluffed out. Well, those of us who have fluff! Caroline is still waiting for her "fluff" to grow in...heheheh

Just another relaxing evening...

The other night, ma took us out on the deck with her to read and blog. She actually let us on the furniture (even though she said we were being rambunctious), which was nice and comfy.- The air was crisp, the crickets were singing, the leaves were falling, we had our bonies to chew on, and ma to snuggle with. It was most enjoyable.
I think I could spend every night like this ma...

Cigars

So I took up cigar smoking:
But ma said it wasn't very becoming. What ev'.
Just kidding! It was really a rawhide chewie...but I like to pretend sometimes that I am a suave French operator...I think I had Caroline fooled (for a little while anyway).
